Whenever I’m in a food come from over-indulgence I like to whip up a little detox smoothie to help clear out my system in time for the next food coma I put myself in. My body loves the reset from the nutrients and antioxidants while I love the refreshing flavor.
And, because my energy levels are low I keep this recipe simple with only 5 ingredients (including the ice!) and it takes about 5 minutes to throw together.
To make this extra special, I add a layer of banana and pineapple pureé on top! I’m so excited for you everyone to try this.
Fun fact about this smoothie, leading up to my wedding I made this every. single. day (sometimes twice a day) and by the end of our engagement my skin was glowing (and clear!). Not to mention I had way more energy than normal. In short, this smoothie is incredible. You need this in your life!
Green Detox Smoothie
This healthy green detox smoothie is made with fresh spinach, vanilla yogurt and a layer of banana and pineapple pureé. The perfect way to reset in just 5 minutes.
Ingredients
Green Smoothie
- 2 cups packed spinach, fresh
- 1 cup vanilla yogurt, use almond milk to make this vegan
- 2 bananas
- 1 cup canned pineapple
- 2 cups ice
Pineapple Puree
- 2 bananas
- 1 cup pineapple
- 2 cups ice
Instructions
- In a blender, add all of the ingredients for the green smoothie and blend together.
- Pour into four large glasses, leaving about 1/4 of the glass for the pineapple puree.
- Then, rinse out the blender and add the ingredients for the pineapple puree. Blend then pour the mixture on top of the four glasses! Serve immediately.
Notes
I like to use Dannon Light Vanilla yogurt.
